The Lodge at the Winery
Please Be Our Guest
Embrace the serenity and simple sophistication of the Lodge at the Winery adjoining Sassafras Springs Vineyard, Northwest Arkansas’ award-winning winery and event venue. Owners Gene and Cheryl Long are excited to announce that the newest addition to their estate is now scheduling wedding parties, business meetings, family reunions and other significant group gatherings.
Private & Special Events Venue
With its stone and cedar lap exterior and gleaming interior wood floors, the Lodge blends rustic beauty with the sleek elegance of modern industrial design. No venue like it is to be found in the region. The building was inspired by European and American wine resorts and wineries that Gene and Cheryl had visited during their many travels. Gene designed the building himself, and Cheryl conceived most of the interior décor. Windows everywhere let in sunlight and, with the surrounding outside decks, offer unbroken vistas of the rolling green expanse and vineyards. The building, with 3,000 square feet of interior space, boasts a large great room measuring 20 by 40 feet, four elegant suites, five bathrooms and a small, well-equipped kitchen. The suites sleep 8 and come with plush bathrobes and high-end soaps and lotions. Two adjoining suites with a spacious, shared dressing area, are ideal for bridesmaids preparing for the wedding.
Plan Your Perfect Stay
The Great Room
Your entrance to the Lodge brings you inside a magnificent and truly awe-inspiring space. The Great Room’s sloped tongue-and-groove pine ceiling reaches to 30 feet.
Immediately, you’re drawn to the earthy burnt orange and green of the décor juxtaposed with the striking minimalism of high, off-white walls. These elements beautifully convey the Lodge’s rustic/modernistic motif. The elegant sconces were made from wine barrel staves by wine country crafters in Pasa Robles, California. Faux antler chandeliers add distinctive light and charm. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the outdoors inside.
A handsomely-appointed sitting area invites pleasant conversation among friends over a glass of wine as they relax in the richness of dark green velvet sofas or comfy armchairs.
The coffee table, stained with hues of the wine barrel from which it was made, sits on a cowhide rug and reflects just another of the Longs’ many novel decorative touches.
By far the grandest statement in the room is the massive, hand-crafted table that seats up to 24 guests and measures 16 feet in length. Made from a single oak tree by local artisans at 2nd Life Wood, the table is perfect for rehearsal dinners, corporate or nonprofit banquets, family gatherings and other celebrations. The Sassafras Springs Wine Club holds its monthly meetings there. Additional high-top round tables can be added if needed. There’s also a laundry room for use by guests.
Step out onto one of the decks to enjoy a glass of wine and savor the peace as the sun spills gold in the valley in the cool of evening.
All four bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with high-end tile, glass and marble, closets, natural pine floors with beautiful cowhide and sparkly rugs, flat-screen TVs and large paintings by wine artist Leanne Laine, whose jubilant work appears throughout the Sassafras Springs estate. The antler-styled lamps, Cheryl tells us, were chosen “because we’re always fighting the deer getting in our vineyard.”
The Cabernet & Rose Suites
These suites beckon guests with comfort and convenience. Sumptuous bedding and accents match the red and deep pink tones of the wines they represent. The bathrooms can adjoin into a common space 16 feet long for brides and members of the bridal party to dress. Or, if privacy is desired, guests can simply shut and lock the door.
The Champagne Suite
Cheryl especially loves this suite for its cozy charm. Light beige furnishings and accessories capture the elegance of the queen of wines. Next to this room is the kitchen, which makes it nice for someone needing a midnight snack.
The Vineyard Suite
The master suite is spacious, dramatic, beautiful. What instantly catches your eye is the stunning wood-slabs headboard, a one-of-a-kind wonder crafted by 2nd Life Wood. As in other rooms of the Lodge, clean simplicity and rustic warmth are the combination for your unforgettable stay.
The Lodge rents as an entire unit with a minimum two-nights’ stay.
